You can apply for a sponsorship by using the online form. It is also possible to fill out one of the coupons from our information material or to send us an informal application via post or E-Mail.

You will receive all the important documents concerning your sponsorship as well as information material about Kinderhilfswerk Global-Care per post a few days after putting in your application. Your sponsorship will start in the following month (in this month the first payment will be made).

With only 39 EURO per month, a sponsorship can change a child’s life.

By donating 39 EURO per month, you support a child and their family in various important aspects of their life:

• Nutrition
• Clothing
• Education and training
• Health care 
• Guidance

• 33 EURO are used for the monthly care of the child you sponsor. This includes gifts for the child and a fund reserve for education and special emergencies.
• 6 EURO are used for sponsor care, information and administration. Any surpluses in this area will be put to use for projects in the countries of operation at the end of the year.

Your data will not be used outside the walls of our offices. This means we do not share your address with project partners or the child you sponsor.

If there are changes to your address, name or bank details, please let us know so we can update our files.

It is important to us that there is a good contact link between you and the child you sponsor. If possible, the child or their guardian should send a letter with a picture once a year. But not every child is used to writing letters, which is why we want to ask for your patience if a letter takes longer to arrive or the content of the letter is not as detailed as hoped for. Many children come from difficult life circumstances and may find it difficult to understand our expectations. However, many sponsors have good and regular contact to their sponsor child.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to invite the child you sponsor to your home country. Taking them out of their familiar environment will not be without consequences for the child. But you can get into contact with us to plan a trip to visit your sponsor child. In doing so, you would be able to get to know our work and the culture of a new country.

For the wellbeing of your sponsor child, we strive for trusting cooperation. But problems and errors can still occur. Please let us know how we can help.

Your sponsor child lives in a completely different cultural environment and grows up with different customs and traditions. There are other virtue- and time concepts and a way of thinking, which can differ from ours.

The Registration Number consists of three parts: Donor-, Area- and Sponsor Child Number.

We do not want children to only be numbers on a screen; we believe that names are very meaningful. But to avoid mix-ups and confusion we introduced a numbering system. This three-part number is very important to us, so we are able to take care of your sponsorship as quickly and as error-free as possible. Please always include these numbers in letters and on bank receipts.

Each number has a different significance:

Donor Number: to be able to send you post and certificates for the tax office at any time, we will record your address and donations received under this number. This number remains the same even with additional sponsor children or supported project.

Area Number: every country and every district has a respective number. With this number we can see where your sponsor child lives.

Sponsor child Number: Names from different cultures can be unfamiliar sometimes. To avoid confusion, every child is registered under a number. This number is also very helpful to our local partner.

We are grateful for your decision to support a child in need. Of course you have the option to cancel a sponsorship at any time. We would appreciate if you let us know early about a cancellation because in most cases your sponsor child is still in need of support.

We want to help children to help themselves in the future, which is why a sponsorship ends when the child becomes independent. This point in time can be very different for each child and depends on their talents, education level, their possibilities or the customs of their country. Of course, we will inform you about the end of your sponsorship.
